Job Description

  • Assist bus driver in providing safe transportation for handicapped students.
  • Instructs students and teachers in emergency bus evacuation procedures twice a year.
  • Instructs students in proper bus conduct.
  • Reports misconduct on bus through established district procedures.
  • Assists Bus Driver with cleaning bus interior and exterior as needed.
  • Completes daily paperwork as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.

 

  Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Possess a current First Aid Card
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work patiently with special needs students.
  • Ability to enter and exit bus using emergency exit.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and grasp as required to successfully perform all duties and requirements.
  • Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus), clear vision at 20 inches or less, and clear vision at 20 feet or more.
  • Such alternatives to above qualifications as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Transportation Supervisor
