Warehouse/Food Service Delivery – 8.0 hours/day

 

      Job Description

  • Maintain all storage areas, coolers, and freezers in a sanitary and orderly manner.
  • Receive, rotate, store, manage and inventory all meal commodities.
  • Operates delivery truck; assures proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Receives, pulls, and delivers from: inventory, food, supplies and equipment from  warehouse to schools, central kitchen departments, and other locations in the district.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies, materials, and equipment from suppliers and vendors in and out of the district.
  • Maintains necessary paperwork to ensure that all pickups and deliveries are accounted for.
  • Maintains orderly and clean warehouse inventory and storage areas.
  • Makes daily inspection of staff and warehouse vehicles.
  • Serves as member of the food service team of the district; performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Food Services Director.

 

      Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Must have valid Washington state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis
  • Preferred one-year experience driving a delivery truck or similar vehicle; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
  • Preferred forklift training certificate or experience.
  • Must be honest, punctual, friendly, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and grasp as required to successfully perform all duties and requirements.
  • Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus), clear vision at 20 inches or less, and clear vision at 20 feet or more
  • Demonstrate a successful level of knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:

Knowledge of safe vehicle operating techniques and standards.

Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices

Knowledge of safe and effective truck loading and unloading techniques and practices.

Ability to safely operate a delivery truck, forklift, and pallet jack.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other employees, suppliers, and vendors

Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the position.    

 

 

Terms of Employment

      Starting Date:             TBD                                                                 

      Salary:                       Per PSE CBA - Schedule A

      Hours:                        8.0 hours/day

      Contracted Days:   187 work days & 7 holidays (194 total contracted days)

Benefits: Retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS), medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits (SEBB through HCA)
